The Best Walks in the Mornington Peninsula

The Best Walks in the Mornington Peninsula

The Mornington Peninsula offers a wonderful variety of walks, from short wetland boardwalks and shady bushland circuits to clifftop tracks with views across Port Phillip Bay and Bass Strait. There are walks through historic seaside towns, nature reserves and coastal parks, as well as longer routes for experienced hikers.

For a major challenge, the 100km Mornington Peninsula Walk combines existing tracks across the southern peninsula. You can also enjoy individual sections without tackling the entire route.

The walks below are arranged alphabetically by location. Where a distance is given, it relates to the route described; alternative starting points and extensions can change the length. Check the individual Melbourne Playgrounds listings for maps and further details, and check current park conditions before setting out. Some coastal walks involve steep stairs, exposed cliffs, soft sand or beach sections affected by tides.
