UPDATE: Since we published this list, some other great playgrounds have been created or upgraded and should be added to the list. These are:

Wally Tew Reserve, Lyndale Court, Ferntree Gully is a wonderful play space with natural elements has a theme of "Forest Floor"

Burden Park, Cnr Heatherton Rd and Springvale Rd, Springvale South is a huge fort like wooden adventure playground.

Caulfield Park, Park Crescent, Caulfield North
has a huge slide which gives a nice adrenaline rush and a large amount of varied play equipment which covers quite an area.

Somerfield Drive North Pirate Playground, Keysborough has a pirate ship theme. You'll find plenty of "Ahoy me hearties" here!

Harleston Park, Allison Road, Elsternwick has a structure at the top of a hill with a huge slide to the bottom of the hill.

Gardenvale Park, Gardenia Road, Gardenvale
is shaded and has possibilities of traversing the length of the playground without touching the ground.

Black Rock Playground, Beach Road, Black Rock has a large sailing ship.

Dandenong Park, Lonsdale Street, Dandenong is a fully fenced playground with sculptural elements, big sand pit and play equipment.

Valley Reserve Play Space, Waimarie Drive, Mount Waverley has been updated with a great playground with an adventurous elevated ropes courses.
