Teddy's Lookout (Lorne)

Perched high above Lorne at the end of George Street, Teddy's Lookout is one of the most spectacular viewpoints along the Great Ocean Road. A short, easy walk from the car park leads to viewing platforms overlooking the mouth of the St George River, the winding Great Ocean Road and the rugged Otway coastline stretching towards Apollo Bay.

The lookout is located within Queens Park, approximately 2 km from the centre of Lorne. The main viewing platform is accessible via a sealed path, while a short stepped path leads to a lower lookout offering a different perspective of the river estuary and surrounding forest.

A cast iron compass dial installed in 1989 points towards towns and landmarks across the region, while the lookout itself has a long history. It has been known as Teddy's Lookout since at least 1878 and was used as a World War II observation post to watch for enemy vessels approaching the coast.

Facilities include a carpark, shelter with table and three unshaded tables. There are no toilets or drinking water at the lookout.
