There are a range of indoor and outdoor go kart tracks across Melbourne. Generally you can turn up and drive some laps and they are also great places for birthday parties or an office party. There's no better feeling than beating your best lap time or executing a great move to pass a competitor.

A purpose-built 450m racing circuit which features grading, sunken corners, a pit lane bridge, three long straights, fast sweepers, two tight and two wider hairpins, two switchbacks and much more. It is a real test of racing skills with a combination of fast straights and complex corners. Racing karts can reach speeds of 60kph.

Operating Times: Mon-Fri 10am-9pm, Sat-Sun 10:30am-9pm
Height & Age Restrictions: Minimum driver age is 13 years

Karting Madness (Bayswater)

Over 600m of track with fast straights, tight turns, technical corners and plenty of overtaking opportunities. There are three types of karts; to suit any driver aged 4+. Both arrive & drive sessions plus group packages are available. The huge venue has a spacious viewing area, arcades room, racing simulators, licensed cafe and function room.

Adult karts are the fastest indoor karts capable of speeds up to 80 km/hr. Rookie karts are suitable for children and young teenagers. The Double Kart allows children and those with disabilities to taste the real kart sensations, the 2Drive is equipped with two steering wheels, including the passenger steering wheel which can be activated or locked to suit your preferences.

Operating Times: Open 7 days, 9am-late
Height & Age Restrictions:
  • Adult Karts - Must be over 14 years and over 150cm tall.
  • Rookie Karts - Must be between 8-13 years and over 120cm tall.
  • Double Karts - Driver must be 18+ years and passenger must be 4+ years.

  • Junior (8-13 years) - Karting session ($35 pp), additional sessions ($25 pp), Double Kart ($40 per kart)

  • A track access pass is required for every driver. This is an additional $10 pp on your first visit.

Ace Karts (Albion)

Ace Karts was established in 1994 and is Victoria's genuine market leader in leisure go-karting. There are Super Karts with a top speed of 75 km/hr, Rookie Karts which are our entry level racer which is a great start for solo beginners, capped at a maximum speed of 40km/h and ideal for ages 6-11 and 2Seater Kart which lets budding racers ride-along with an adult and passengers can even control the brakes and steering (optional).

Le Mans Go Karts (Dandenong South)

Le Mans is Victoria's biggest go-karting complex. It is a massive three track complex stretching over 23 acres. The 650m Lakeside track is a fast and technical all weather track equipped with floodlights for night racing and spectators can watch the action up close from the Le Mans bus. The 620m Pentrite Track is Victoria's most popular track with technical turns to test your skills and is fully floodlit for year round night racing. The 200m Rimo Track is a dual purpose track - this is both the junior track and the drift track, it's a wide and twisty track which is perfect for all ages fun and equipped with floodlights for night racing.

There are a range of karts including Superkarts (Victoria's fastest karts for experienced drivers only and a top speed 80km/hr), Sprint Karts, Rookie Karts (safe, speedy fun for up and coming racers), Super Super Drift Karts (slide sideways with style - its skill not speed that counts) and Double Karts.

Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit Go Kart Track is over 720 metres long and is based on a scale replica of the 4.445km world famous Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit. The smooth curves and super fast straight of this unique go kart track are strung along some of the most breath-taking coastline on the Island with rolling hills, rugged cliffs, and ocean to horizon.

This is your chance to get the feeling that so many past and present champions have had the privilege of. Feel the speed of turn 1, check out the ocean views around southern loop, good passing opportunity into a tight turn 4, sweeping corner around Siberia and the sudden drop off from Lukey Heights into MG corner and back onto the main straight. This scale replica go kart track is the only one like it in Australia and will give you and your friends a go kart experience like no other.

The Champ Kart fleet are for general public hire and are an imported Swiss Hutless kart. Our tandem karts also allow the whole family to enjoy the fun together.

Operating Times: Year round excluding the periods for MotoGP and the Superbike World Championship.
Height & Age Restrictions: Single karts - minimum 12 years of age and at least 140cm tall. Tandem Karts - Driver aged 18+ years and at least 140cm tall and child passenger minimum 5 years of age minimum height of 100cm tall.

Little Buggy Speedway has Herbie-themed Italian-made cars. The speedway is suited to youngsters learning to drive for the first time and the two seater cars are big enough to fit Mum or Dad.

The concrete Thunderdome track is just over 300 metres long and has plenty of curves to test your driving skills as you race against your family and friends. Funfields is the home to both the Viper (single go kart), the Sidewinder (double go kart) and J&J's latest 2 seater, open wheel design go kart Screaming Eagle.

Height & Age Restrictions: Must be minimum 145cm tall to drive a go kart. Children from 100cm up to 145cm must ride as a passenger with a driver 145cm or over. Guests under 100cm tall are not permitted to ride the go karts.

Funfields

In the Kidzone there are single Formula Fun Mini electric Go Karts.

Height & Age Restrictions: 100-141cm+ to ride alone.
