George Tindale Memorial Garden (Sherbrooke)

The garden contains a number of plants rarely found in cultivation, which are thriving in the acidic soils, cool temperate climate and shaded conditions found in the Dandenong Ranges. Extensive collections of magnolias, rhododendrons, camellias, azaleas, fuchsias and hydrangeas will delight garden enthusiasts.
The gardens offer something new with each season - a myriad of flowers in spring; hydrangeas, lilliums and fuchsias in summer; a canopy of gold, red, orange and burgundy in Autumn and the flowers of the Lenten Rose or Hellebore beneath flowering shrubs in winter.
Opening Hours:
Open 10am to 5pm every day except days of Total Fire Ban and Severe Weather events.

Accessibility:
Sealed pathways at the top end of the garden are accessible by wheelchair with assistance. Other sections of the garden include unsealed steep pathways that are not recommended for use by wheelchairs.

Access for Dogs:
Dogs are welcome in the garden but must be on a leash at all times.
Review:
A lovely place to wander around, especially on a warm day since there are a lot of shady canopies. The paths are quite steep and mossy so you need to be careful. There is an intricate network of paths which the kids can explore with the added bonus of a few (fairly unimpressive) sculptures to find. The whole area is quite small and will not take a long time to cover. There are toilets but no cafe.
