Eastern Park Dog Off Leash Area (Geelong East)



Eastern Park comprises heritage open space (Botanical Gardens), regional community park and district recreation reserve. Located on the edge of the Central Geelong business district and bordering the Waterfront Geelong precinct, this 185-acre park is a fantastic spot to enjoy fresh air and outdoor activity. The park is used by many locals for jogging, walking and cycling, with 20 significant landscape areas or features to find and explore.

Eastern Park is an arboretum featuring a great collection of conifers. Pines from around the world form wonderful avenues along the original carriageways. Cypress and other tree species make the park a wonderful place to escape from the everyday hustle and bustle of city living.

The Geelong Botanic Gardens and Eastern Park have recognised heritage value and are listed on the Victorian Heritage Register and on the Register of the National Estate because they are an excellent example of nineteenth century Victorian Botanic Gardens. The are also 36 trees in the area listed on the National Trust of Australia (Victoria) Register of significant trees.

Eastern Park includes Geelong Play Space, Geelong Botanic Gardens, Geelong Conference Centre, East Geelong golf course, Limeburners boat ramp, historic mineral springs, sporting facilities, walking tracks, vast open spaces, toilets, BBQs and picnic areas.

Note: Sporting grounds and ovals in the Greater Geelong area can be used for dog off leash activities outside of regular sport or training times.
