Dingo Discovery Sanctuary and Research Centre (Toolern Vale)

Dingo Discovery Sanctuary and Research Centre is a unique wildlife conservation facility in Toolern Vale, approximately 45 km northwest of Melbourne, where visitors can learn about Australia's remarkable native dingoes.
Established in 1990 and operated by the Australian Dingo Foundation, the sanctuary occupies approximately 40 acres in the foothills of the Macedon Ranges, adjoining Pyrete State Forest.
The sanctuary is dedicated to conserving genetically pure Australian dingoes, educating the public about their ecological importance and supporting scientific research.
Unlike a conventional zoo, the sanctuary offers pre-booked guided experiences that provide an opportunity to learn about dingoes and the important work being undertaken to protect them.
Dingo Encounter Tours:
The sanctuary offers private guided tours lasting approximately 90 minutes.
During the experience, knowledgeable guides introduce visitors to the resident dingoes and explain their behaviour, biology, conservation and role as native apex predators.
Depending on the animals' behaviour and welfare requirements, visitors may have opportunities for supervised interaction with selected dingoes.
