Belmont Criterium Track

The track is located on Belmont Common near the Barwon Valley Activity Centre. It is approximately 5m wide and 2.2km long, set out such that it can be divided into shorter loops.

It provides a place for races that is off public roads, improving the safety of competitors and reducing traffic management issues.

The track is used by Geelong Cycling Club.

When the track is not being used for races, it will be available to the wider community to use for training and exercise in safety away from motor vehicle traffic.

Conditions of Use:
  • The Criterium track is ONE WAY only. Cyclists should travel in a clockwise direction.
  • Slower riders should stay LEFT, faster cyclists should pass on the RIGHT.
  • When training cyclists should travel at a maximum of two abreast.
  • Riders must wear approved cycling helmets at all times.
  • Riders must ensure that any bicycles and / or Human Powered Vehicles taken onto this facility are in safe working order.
  • Motorised vehicles including cars and motorbikes are NOT permitted to use this facility (excluding emergency and maintenance vehicles).
  • No motor pacing permitted.
  • Children under 12 must be supervised by an adult at all times whist using this facility.
  • Rubbish must be placed in the bins provided.
