Werribee to Riverbend Park Loop Walk (Werribee)

This 8.2km loop walk starts and finishes at Bicentennial Bridge at Wyndham Park and follows the meandering Werribee River north to Riverbend Historical Park.

The Werribee River is flanked by River Redgums which are believed to be 200-400 years old with many lovely spots to stop and relax. Platypus have been seen in all sections of the river including this stretch. This walk is popular in the mornings and evenings, especially at sunset.

Historic markers and significant trees are pointed out via interpretive signage.

The path is paved and crosses busy Cottrell Street bridge.

At Riverbank Historical Park there are BBQs but no toilets or water taps. Toilets and water taps are available at the start/finish of this walk in Wyndham Park plus there are toilets, drinking water and a playground can be found in Presidents Park. To get there, take a 500m detour west at Heaths Road.

Wyndham Park two large playgrounds, lovely lawns, toilets, water taps, BBQs, picnic tables and outdoor gym.

For a range of cafes and bakeries, head across the orange pedestrian bridge to Watton Street.

If you're after a shorter walk, use the footpath to cross the river at Heaths Road and head back towards Werribee for a 5.3 km loop.

This walk connects to the south with Wyndham Park Loop Walk and to the north with the Riverbend Historical Park to Davis Creek Walk.
