Ray Bastin Reserve, Norfolk Drive, Narre Warren

Brilliant playground with a rocket theme and you don't need to be a budding rocket scientist to enjoy it. Beautifully landscaped and themed. The central area includes a large rocket on a launching pad with very twisty tunnel slide as an emergency escape route. This structure also has tunnels, stepped levels, walkways, various shaped ladders, panels, shop front, abacus, tic-tac-toe and cubby area. On the side is a rocket launching site with huge control panel - Why go to Kazakhstan when you can launch rockets from the Ray Bastin Reserve? There is a large moon buggy, extra-terrestrial creature writhing in and out of the ground, rope climbing frame, three stand-on spinners, colourful stepping stones sprouting like mushrooms, lots of other rockers, climbing and play equipment, large sandpit, four swings plus a Liberty swing.

The playground is next to a Skate Park and BMX track. There is also a sensory trail which highlights different eco-systems, BBQs, plenty of shaded tables and seats under trees, shelters and shade sails. Toilets.

My boys 4 and 1 loved this park. Great space theme and the big twisty slide off the rocket was a hit. The downside is the lack of shade however- it was a hot day and we couldn't stay long as there was v little shade at all. we will be back again in the cooler months!

I drove nearly 90Km with my son to Narre Warren, and very dissappointed, only one toilet for both male and female is missing door and filthy, slide is not smooth enough, my kid stuck in middle,it twists too quick and deep make you dizzy at the end . Dont waste your kid's time. I have been to Bayswater Park,Hays Paddock,Wombat Bend and Bicentennial Park, they all great, really recommended to anyone.

It's okay, I've been to better playground than this (wooden park in Springdale. I'm a big kid myself (37), running around with my kids, niece and nephew, we need bigger, wider and higher playgrounds to do off ground gang up chase games.

Just visited here today and I must say I was impressed this is one of the best parks I have ever been to and all my boys had a wonderful time. We took their scooters so they had a go with the big boys, they have a bmx track too. This is certainly a 10 out of 10 for me. If anyone can find another park or better then this be sure to let me know as I can't think of one that would beat this in surrounding areas.

I think this park is a wonderful park for all ages! My kids love it has everything. It has lots of picnic tables for parties and best still the ground is all covered in the bouncy padding....No mud in sight even on rainy days!!!! I wish more councils took a leaf from this councils Play ground & there is a worker that cleans it regularly too!!!!! I have been there and there is over 30 cars in car park and it is packed with teenagers down to littlies on a cold wintery day!!! That says something.
