Yaapeet - Turkey Bottom Lake


Turkey Bottom Lake is a quiet recreation and camping area on the outskirts of Yaapeet in Victoria's southern Mallee. The lake is a secluded camping destination with good fishing.
The lake and campground have been developed through considerable community effort and are a popular gathering place during holiday periods.
The bushland setting makes the lake suitable for a peaceful overnight stop, fishing and relaxing beside the water. Visitors should be aware that conditions and water levels can vary, particularly in this dry Mallee environment.
Camping:
Camping is available beside Turkey Bottom Lake.
Fishing:
Fishing is permitted at Turkey Bottom Lake. A Victorian recreational fishing licence is required.
Opening Hours:
Open for camping and day visits. The lake is about 800 metres south-west of the town centre.
