Winchelsea Lions Park

Winchelsea Lions Park is a peaceful riverside reserve on the banks of the Barwon River, providing a pleasant place to relax, picnic and enjoy the scenery. Located close to the town centre, it is a popular stop for travellers and a convenient place to stretch your legs while exploring Winchelsea.

Large shady trees, open lawns and picnic facilities make the park ideal for families, while the nearby river attracts birdlife including ducks, swans and other waterbirds. There is plenty of space for children to run around, and the easy access to the river makes it a popular spot for fishing.

A highlight of the park is its collection of historic farming equipment, including old wagons and machinery that reflect the important role agriculture played in Winchelsea's development.

The park also forms part of the Barwon River Walk, allowing visitors to enjoy a leisurely walk along the river or continue into the historic township. During warmer months the reserve is a favourite location for picnics and community gatherings.

Facilities include seven unshaded picnic tables, a shelter with BBQs and seating, a shelter with a picnic table, large grassed areas, riverside walking paths, fishing access, public toilets, car parking, the historic bluestone bridge, a waste water collection point, the Winchelsea Memorial Cairns, the Winchelsea World War I Memorial, a WWII howitzer and the Annis and George Bills drinking trough.
