Warrnambool - Russells Creek Trail

Russells Creek Trail is an easy, fully paved shared path following Russells Creek through Warrnambool's northern residential neighbourhoods and parklands. The linear route runs between Wares Road and Daltons Road, with multiple entry points allowing visitors to explore shorter sections.

The trail is suitable for walking, running and cycling. Its paved surface also makes it suitable for prams and many mobility aids. Vegetation along the creek creates an important green corridor and provides habitat for local birds and other wildlife.

This is a shared path, so keep to the left where possible and supervise children around cyclists, creek banks and road crossings. No dedicated toilets, barbecues or picnic facilities are identified in the official trail information.

Access for Dogs:

Russells Creek Reserve between Mortlake Road and Garden Street is a designated off-leash area. Dogs must remain under effective voice control, and owners must carry a leash and use it when approaching other dogs or coming within 30 metres of playgrounds, barbecues, picnic areas, sporting events or public gatherings.

Outside the designated Mortlake Road to Garden Street section, dogs must be kept on a leash. Owners must carry waste bags and remove their dog's droppings.
