Warrnambool Foreshore Promenade
The award-winning Warrnambool Foreshore Promenade is a 5.7 km sealed shared path extending from the Warrnambool Breakwater to Point Ritchie - Moyjil at the mouth of the Hopkins River. The coastal path is popular with walkers, runners, cyclists, scooters, rollerbladers, wheelchair users and families with prams.
The promenade follows Lady Bay and passes the main swimming beach, Warrnambool Surf Life Saving Club, several beach access points, cafés, grassy foreshore reserves, Granny's Grave and coastal viewpoints before reaching Point Ritchie - Moyjil.
There are extensive views across Lady Bay and the Southern Ocean. Depending on the season, visitors may see seabirds, surfers and occasionally whales offshore. The path can be joined at several points, making it easy to complete a shorter section.

The promenade is a shared path. Cyclists, scooter riders and skaters should travel at a safe speed and give way to pedestrians. Some sections can be exposed to strong coastal winds.
The route can be combined with a walk around Lake Pertobe or extended via connecting paths. Logans Beach Whale Viewing Platform is farther east and is not the official endpoint of the 5.7 km Foreshore Promenade.
Access for Dogs:
Dogs are permitted on the Foreshore Promenade but must be kept on a leash. Separate seasonal restrictions apply to the adjoining beaches, so check the current Warrnambool City Council dog-access information before allowing a dog onto the sand.
Review:
This is an excellent family-friendly coastal path with a smooth surface, frequent access points and wonderful views over Lady Bay. Since it is an out-and-back route, families can turn around whenever necessary or arrange transport between the Breakwater and Point Ritchie - Moyjil.
