Warrnambool Community Garden

Warrnambool Community Garden is a welcoming six-acre community space where families can explore food gardens, learn about sustainable living and meet the resident chickens. Visitors can follow a self-guided tour through communal growing areas, private plots, the children’s garden, bush-food plantings and a former quarry transformed into a grassed amphitheatre.

Accessibility:

The bush-food garden, herb garden, Healthy Urban Building and areas closest to the entrance can be accessed by wheelchair or walking frame. Some sections of the former quarry site have uneven or difficult terrain. Visitors with specific access requirements are encouraged to contact the garden before visiting.

Visitor Guidelines:

Enter from Grieve Street and park outside the garden gates.
Do not drive through the gates, even when they are open.
Private plots and communal produce should not be picked or harvested by visitors.
Follow signs showing areas that are closed to public access.
Ask permission before photographing other visitors, particularly children.

Access for Dogs:

Dogs are not permitted in Warrnambool Community Garden.

Cost:

Entry and self-guided visits are free. Charges may apply to some organised workshops, tours and children’s activities. See the current events and learning program.
