Wangaratta - Frank Garth Reserve Beach
A gravel road leads down from Parfitt Road (near the Clements Street intersection) to the Frank Garth Reserve beside the confluence of the Ovens River and King River. Camping is not permitted. The reserve is located in the heart of Wangaratta.
There is a sandy beach area beside the river without any facilities. It is a popular spot for locals for fishing, swimming and paddleboarding. Generally the water is fairly shallow and the currents are not too fast. Trees provide some shade.
It is a 250m walk under the Major Mitchell Bridge to Apex Park where there are picnic facilities, water tap and toilets. It is also within walking distance to the Wangaratta shops.
