Traralgon South Flora and Fauna Reserve

Traralgon South Flora and Fauna Reserve protects a large area of native bushland adjoining the rural township of Traralgon South.

The reserve consists mainly of dry sclerophyll forest with a variety of eucalypts and an interesting native understorey. It is particularly attractive during the wildflower season, when a diverse range of native flowers can be found throughout the bushland.

The reserve is also a good destination for birdwatching and quiet nature walks. Several walking tracks extend through the forest, allowing visitors to explore different sections of the reserve.

The reserve suffered significant effects from the 2009 bushfires but the regenerating forest continues to provide important habitat for native plants and wildlife.

The reserve is suitable for picnics, nature walks and birdwatching.

There are limited visitor facilities, so walkers should carry drinking water and be prepared for a natural bush setting. Tracks can be uneven, sandy or overgrown in places.
