Timboon - Power Creek Reserve Walking Track

The Power Creek Reserve Walking Track is a peaceful network of 5km of interconnected bush trails following Power Creek through the heart of Timboon. Winding through 16.5 hectares of remnant native forest, the reserve offers an easy escape into nature, with walking tracks, timber bridges, abundant birdlife and picnic areas all within a short stroll of the town centre.

Originally reserved in the 1880s for a proposed railway line that was never built, the area has become an important conservation reserve linking the Curdies River Valley with Cowley's Creek Reserve. Today, around 5 kilometres of walking tracks cater for walkers of all ages, with several loop options ranging from a few minutes to around 40 minutes. The trails meander beside the creek, through mature eucalypts and patches of native bushland, creating a tranquil setting that's ideal for a leisurely walk.

Interpretive signs along the way highlight the reserve's native flora and fauna. Visitors may spot koalas, swamp wallabies, echidnas, possums and a wide variety of birds including Sacred Kingfishers, Gang-gang Cockatoos, Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoos and Grey Goshawks. The reserve is also home to mature Manna Gums, Messmates, Brown Stringybarks and many native shrubs and wildflowers.

The reserve is popular with families thanks to its adjacent Power Creek Reserve Playground, picnic facilities and open grassed areas. It also connects with the Poorpa Yanyeen Meerreeng Timboon - Port Campbell Trail, making it a great starting point for longer walks or bike rides towards the coast.
