Junction Creek Nature Walk Map

Review:
A delightful walk which follows Junction Creek through a lovely environment with lots of tree ferns and many bridges across the creek made of logs or planks. There is also a good range of birds to see and hear.
There's no allocated parking area so it's best to park beside the Kiewa Valley Highway where there's some room. At the start of the walk don't cross the initial bridge but head down to the creek and follow the narrow track that runs beside the creek. Even though the creek is wild and thickly vegetated in places you can always hear the water flowing nearby for most of the length. You will pass a massive wombat hole beside the creek.

There is one point for a rest where there's a seat next to an interesting old car wreck The track reaches a sign "The Gully exit to Vails Road" with steps leading uphill. Ignore this exit and continue on to where the track ends in a thick tree fern gully and steps lead up the hill, The track turns towards the east where there is a seat to rest on and then downhill to meet a gravel road which later joins the asphalt Vails Road.
