Stratford Historical Museum

Stratford Historical Museum preserves and presents the history of Stratford and the former Avon Shire. The museum has an extensive collection of historical artefacts, photographs, documents, reference material and local archives covering Stratford and the surrounding district.
The museum is housed in the former Stratford Methodist Church, an intact brick building dating from 1872, together with an additional museum shed.
The collection covers communities that were formerly part of the Avon Shire and surrounding areas, including Stratford, Clydebank, The Heart, Montgomery, Bundalaguah, Llowalong, Munro, Meerlieu, Strathfieldsaye, Dargo, Grant and Crooked River.
The Stratford Historical Society also maintains an extensive indexing and research program and the museum is a Place of Deposit for the Public Record Office Victoria.
