Slot Car Activities in Melbourne

Slot car racing is a fun and exciting activity. You can enjoy the thrills and spills of slot car racing with your family and friends no matter what age.

There are a number of places where you can race by casual hiring of a track and cars, as a core element of a birthday party or on a regular basis with a club.

Mr Slotcar (Hallam)

There are a number of tracks on the premises. Downstairs there is the 34m, 6 lane Anniversary track, 32m 8 lane Slingshot track and a small 6 lane figure "8" track for the young racer. Upstairs is the main 40m, 8 lane racetrack with seated pit space for 30 drivers and the first 4-wide drag strip of its kind.

The following racing options are available:

Casual hire of a track - You don't need to own a slot car to go racing. Come to the shop, rent a car and controller and race. The Slingshot track is a favourite track with family groups and casual hire with its long straights and wide sweeper under the bridge which make for great racing for newbies.
Saturday morning Racing - The racing is a bit light hearted with lots of banter and exaggerated race victories. The racers go through 3 classes to get their name on the Wacky Races Trophy.
Parties at Mr Slotcar premises - Parties are suitable for a minimum of 10 children, 5 years and over. You get 1 hour racing on the exciting race track and 30 minutes in the "Party Zone" for your food.
Parties at your premises - A mobile track with a host is delivered to your home. All the action is monitored by the on-board computer system, whilst our race host organises all of the racing. You need to provide a space equivalent to a double garage.

Offers track hire, weekly and monthly racing for all classes of slot cars and children's parties.

Note: Race Party Boutique Slot Car Racing in Hawthorn East is "in recess" and may continue operating in the future.

Phoenix Slot Car Group Melbourne

Phoenix Slot Car Group Melbourne is run by slot car enthusiasts for slot car enthusiasts. Comprising of six routed wooden tracks, they race both 1/32 and 1/24 scale slot cars. Race events are held at different locations around Melbourne on routed wooden tracks with computer timing software. Formats include Timed, Fuel and Enduros.

Oz Scale Racers Slot Car Racing Club

Oz Scale Racers is a Melbourne based Slotcar club consisting of like minded people dedicated to having fun while still enjoying close and friendly slot car racing on routed wooden tracks.

Not only do their race nights provide great competition, but they are also held in a real social atmosphere with pizza / pasta or a BBQ provided at each event. All skill levels are welcome to participate.

Consisting of both 1:32 and 1:24 scale slot cars, racing is held fortnightly on Saturday nights, starting around 7pm till late. They use Race Coordinator software and events include: Timed, Fuel and Enduros racing. Races are held at various locations around Melbourne.
