Skipton Common and Creek Walk
The Skipton Common and Creek Walk is a short walk following Mount Emu Creek from central Skipton to the Skipton Town Common. The walk passes through an attractive creek-side environment with mature trees, open grassland and opportunities to observe birds and other wildlife.

Time: Approximately 20 minutes
Terrain: Mostly flat
Track: A combination of roadside footpath, grass and unsealed creek-bank track
Start/Finish: Montgomery Street bridge beside Stewart Park Historical Precinct, Skipton
Begin beside Stewart Park at the Montgomery Street bridge over Mount Emu Creek. Follow the brown directional sign for the Skipton Common and Creek Walk.
Cross the bridge and follow Bridge Street north towards Blake Street. Use the signed access to the Creek Bank Walk near Blake Street and continue north beside Mount Emu Creek towards the Skipton Town Common. Return to Stewart Park along the same route.
Before or after the walk, explore Stewart Park’s historical buildings, Platypus Rising sculpture and platypus viewing platform. Platypuses are most likely to be seen around dawn or dusk, although sightings are never guaranteed.

Access for Dogs:
Dogs are permitted on a leash. Keep dogs under effective control, avoid disturbing wildlife and clean up after them.
Opening Hours:
Open at all times. Do not use the creek-bank track when it is flooded.
