Rushworth Museum

Rushworth Museum is housed in the former Rushworth Mechanics Institute, a historic building erected in 1913 to replace the original 1861 structure.
The museum contains a collection of photographs, documents, artefacts and other material relating to the history of Rushworth and the surrounding district. It provides an insight into the people, families, businesses, industries and events which shaped the historic gold-rush town and surrounding region.
The Rushworth and District Historical Society is the custodian of the museum and also maintains Rushworth, Whroo and district cemetery records and an extensive collection of local newspapers and historical research material.
