Red Cliffs Military Museum

The Red Cliffs Military Museum is housed in the Red Cliffs/Irymple RSL clubrooms and contains an extensive collection of military artefacts and memorabilia. The museum was established in 1997 after the RSL's collection of items donated for safekeeping grew large enough to warrant a dedicated museum.

The collection covers conflicts from the Boer War through World War I, World War II, Vietnam and East Timor, with material relating to the Army, Navy, Air Force and Women's Services. Displays include uniforms, medals, firearms, Japanese swords, documents, certificates, photographs taken by soldiers, trench art, items collected by prisoners of war and scale models of tanks, aircraft and other military equipment. Victorian Collections also maintains an online selection of items from the museum's collection.

The museum has an extensive research library of military-related books and DVDs. Schools, service clubs and coach groups also visit the volunteer-run museum.

Outside the RSL building are several memorial features. A pine commemorates the World War I Gallipoli Campaign, an olive tree commemorates the World War II campaigns in Greece and Crete, and a Turkish gun captured by the Australian Light Horse during the World War I campaign in Palestine is displayed nearby.
