Pro Red Fishing Charters (Carrum)
Pro Red Fishing Charters operates fishing trips across Port Phillip Bay, Western Port and offshore waters along Victoria's southern coast. The main Melbourne departure point is Carrum, with other charters departing from Mornington, St Kilda, Rye, Hastings, Stony Point and Corinella. Seasonal bluefin tuna trips also operate from Portland.
Charters cater for beginners through to experienced anglers and target a range of species including snapper, King George whiting, flathead, squid, kingfish, gummy sharks, elephant sharks and southern bluefin tuna. Individual places and private group charters are available.
Fishing Charters:
Snapper Fishing - Generally operates from Carrum during the snapper season from October to April. Trips are approximately five hours.Gummy Shark Fishing - Seasonal trips operate from locations including Hastings, Stony Point and Mornington, fishing Western Port, Port Phillip Bay and surrounding waters.
King George Whiting and Mixed Species Fishing - Operates mainly from Hastings into Western Port, targeting King George whiting and other species depending on season and conditions.
Calamari and Squid Fishing - Available throughout the year from locations including Carrum, Rye and Hastings, fishing Port Phillip Bay and Western Port.
Shark Fishing - Offshore charters target gummy, school and seven-gill sharks, with Hastings one of the main departure points.
Bluefin Tuna Fishing - Longer seasonal trips target southern bluefin tuna, including charters from Portland and Western Port.
The Boat:
The main charter vessel, Barracuda, is a 9.5 metre long and 3 metre wide Preston Craft with a full walk-around deck. It is powered by twin Mercury 250 Seapro commercial V8 four-stroke outboards and carries navigation, fish-finding and safety equipment including radar, GPS and a life raft.All bait, tackle and burley required for the fishing charters are supplied.
Most charters can accommodate up to 12 people. Additional vessels can be arranged for larger groups.
Fishing Licence:
Customers are required to have an appropriate Victorian recreational fishing licence unless an exemption applies.Opening Hours:
