Port Fairy - Reardon Theatre and Port Fairy Film Society

Reardon Theatre is Port Fairy's historic community cinema and the home of regular screenings presented by the not-for-profit Port Fairy Film Society.

The cinema was constructed in 1954 to replace the earlier Port Fairy Palace Picture Theatre. It was designed by Cowper Murphy and Associates, a prominent Australian cinema architecture practice, and originally accommodated approximately 600 patrons.

The theatre was named in honour of former Port Fairy mayor John Henry Reardon. It was refurbished in 2018 while retaining the character of a traditional country cinema.

Port Fairy Film Society presents a diverse program of Australian and international cinema. Its regular season generally includes a screening on the third Friday of each month from February to November. Summer movies, school-holiday screenings and community fundraising film nights may also be offered.

The classification and suitability for children varies with each film. Check the classification, consumer advice and running time before booking.

Opening Hours:

The theatre opens for advertised screenings and events only. Regular evening screenings generally open their doors at 7 pm and begin at 7:30 pm. Late admission may not be possible after the doors close.
