Port Fairy - East Beach Precinct

The East Beach Precinct is a landscaped family recreation and picnic area beside Port Fairy's popular East Beach.

A major redevelopment completed in 2025 created approximately 4,000 square metres of improved public open space. The project added lawns, garden areas, picnic shelters, barbecues, seating, sun lounges, drinking fountains, bicycle parking and improved connections to the beach.

The East Beach amenities building was also renovated with new toilets, showers, hand basins, cubicles, an upgraded accessible bathroom and outdoor beach showers.

East Beach is a long sandy beach used for swimming, surfing, beach walking and other coastal activities. Lifesavers or lifeguards patrol the main swimming area during parts of the summer season. The beach is only patrolled when the red and yellow flags are displayed.

Always swim between the flags when patrols are operating. Conditions can change, and children should be supervised closely in and around the water.

Access for Dogs:

Dogs are prohibited from designated sections of Port Fairy's East Beach between 9 am and 6 pm daily from 24 December to Easter Monday inclusive. Check the current signs and Moyne Shire beach restrictions.
