Penshurst - Yatmerone Wildlife Reserve

Yatmerone Wildlife Reserve protects a 13-hectare spring-fed freshwater marsh wetland on the western side of Penshurst.
More than 30 bird species have been recorded at the reserve. The permanent wetland provides important habitat and a summer refuge for native plants and animals.
Features include:
- Wetland and native parkland
- Short nature trail following the edge of the reserve
- Bird hide located a few hundred metres along the trail
- Birdwatching and wildlife photography
- More than 30 recorded bird species
- Opportunities to observe native plants and other wildlife
- On-site parking at the western end of Ritchie Street, Penshurst
- Access by a generally suitable unsealed road
Access for Dogs:
Dogs are prohibited in the wildlife reserve. Assistance animals are permitted subject to Parks Victoria requirements.
Restrictions:
Dogs, bicycles, camping and fires are prohibited. Remain on the trail and avoid disturbing wildlife or wetland vegetation.
