Panmure Swimming Hole

Panmure Swimming Hole, locally known as the Big Hole, is a deep natural freshwater swimming area in Mount Emu Creek beside Panmure Recreation Reserve.

The swimming hole is a popular summer destination and normally has a diving board during the warmer months. Moyne Shire Council removes the board over winter and has it inspected before it is reinstalled, usually around November.

This is a natural waterway rather than a supervised swimming pool. Water depth, currents, submerged objects, water quality and other conditions can change after rain or flooding. The swimming hole is not patrolled by lifeguards.

Children must be closely supervised around the creek. Check signs and conditions before swimming and never dive or jump unless the designated diving board is open and the landing area has been confirmed as safe.

The adjoining recreation reserve and camping area provide a grassy place for a picnic or an overnight stop.

Opening Hours:

The reserve is open at all times. The diving board is seasonal and may be removed or closed.
