Orbost - Snowy River Walk

The Snowy River Walk is an easy riverside walk starting at Forest Park and the historic Slab Hut Visitor Information Centre in Orbost. The gentle track follows the picturesque banks of the Snowy River and can be explored either upstream or downstream.
The walk passes through a landscaped riverside setting with native flora and fauna, shady lawns, picnic areas and interpretive signs relating stories of Orbost's early settlers. It is suitable for a short stroll, birdwatching or combining a walk with a picnic beside the river.
The riverside path also connects with other walks around Orbost. From Forest Park you can walk into Nicholson Street and follow the Orbost Heritage Walk, while another path leads via the Sensory Gardens and historic Butter Factory back towards Forest Park. The Riverside Path continues beyond the Snowy River Walk to connect with the East Gippsland Rail Trail.
