Omeo - Dead Sailor Bike Hire

Dead Sailor combines a cafe, pizza restaurant, licensed bar and mountain bike shop in central Omeo, close to the Omeo MTB Park trails.

The food and drink menu includes authentic pizzas made with house-made dough and slow-cooked tomato Napoli sauce, cafe food, St Ali specialty coffee, craft beers on tap and traditional bottled and canned beers. Visitors can sit inside beside the fire or outside on the deck.

Mountain Bike Hire

Dead Sailor hires standard and electric dual-suspension Rocky Mountain bikes suitable for the varied trails at Omeo MTB Park. Bikes are available in several adult sizes and can sell out during weekends and holiday periods, so advance bookings are recommended.

Hire bikes include flat pedals and an open-face helmet. Full-face helmets, body armour and gloves are not available for hire, although protective equipment and riding accessories can be purchased from the shop.

Mountain Bike Shop

The shop stocks mountain bike parts and accessories including tyres, tubes, brake pads, chain links, gear cables, tools, lubricants, helmets, gloves, eyewear, protective equipment and riding apparel. New and ex-demonstration bikes may also be available for sale.

Mountain Bike Shuttles

Dead Sailor is the Omeo base for Blue Dirt Mountain Biking, one of the official Omeo MTB Park gravity shuttle operators. Shuttle passengers check in at the store before being transported with their bikes to the upper trail network.

Shuttles operate on selected days, weekends, public holidays and peak holiday periods. Advance booking is recommended because places can fill and pre-booked tickets may cost less than tickets purchased on the day.
