Olinda Creek Walk (Silvan Reservoir to Mount Evelyn)

The walk 4.6km (one-way) starts from the Silvan overflow car park on Stonyford Road (almost opposite the entrance to the Silvan Reservoir Park) and ends at the Mt Evelyn Recreation Reserve.

The walk is fairly flat with a few undulations.

There are toilets and picnic facilities at both Mt Evelyn Recreation Reserve and in the Silvan Reservoir Park opposite the overflow parking area.

The route can be walked in either direction. If you want to do the one-way option, use a car shuffle with one car at Silvan Reservoir and another at Mt Evelyn Recreation Reserve.

Route Description

The walk starts from the Silvan Reservoir Overflow Car Park where there is a signposted track to Mt Evelyn Reserve (4.6 km).
Follow the track towards the Silvan water treatment plant, until reaching the fence line where Grey Gum Track leads off to the right.
Follow Grey Gum Track along the fence line for a short way and continue until Olinda Creek Track branches off to the left.
After crossing a small bridge over Olinda Creek, the track continues a short distance to then meet the main trail which is clearly marked to Mt Evelyn.
Once over the footbridge and on the wider section of Olinda Creek Track, follow the signage all the way.
The last section of the walk heads down an open, reasonably steep hill.
At the base of the big hill, turn right onto a small track that leads into the Mt Evelyn Reserve.
