Nowa Nowa - Banksia Boulevard Walk
The Banksia Boulevard Walk is the most challenging section of the Nowa Nowa Walk network, linking the shores of Lake Tyers with the East Gippsland Rail Trail through the beautiful Lake Tyers State Park. This rewarding bushwalk climbs steadily through open eucalypt forest dominated by distinctive Old Man Banksias (Saw Banksias), which give the track its name. Along the way you'll enjoy peaceful forest scenery, native birdlife and occasional glimpses back towards the lakes and surrounding countryside.
Beginning where the Wetlands Walk finishes, the trail heads north through the state park before crossing the Princes Highway at the marked pedestrian crossing. The walk then continues through drier forest before finishing at the East Gippsland Rail Trail. Many walkers complete the 9.5km Nowa Nowa Walk by returning to town via the rail trail, creating an enjoyable circuit of forests, wetlands and lakeside scenery.

Getting There
The walk starts at the junction with the Wetlands Walk near Launching Road, Nowa Nowa, and finishes at the East Gippsland Rail Trail. If completing the full circuit, simply follow the rail trail back into town.
Tips
- Wear sturdy walking shoes, as the track includes a steady uphill climb for around 2km.
- Carry drinking water, particularly during warmer months.
- Cross the Princes Highway only at the marked pedestrian crossing.
- Combine the walk with the Wetlands Walk, Boggy Creek Gorge Walk and Sculpture Walk to experience the full range of Nowa Nowa's walking trails.
