Newmerella - Grandview Lookout Walk

Grandview Lookout is a short and easy 600m return walk near Newmerella with panoramic views across Orbost, the Snowy River floodplains, the historic railway bridge and the eastern end of the East Gippsland Rail Trail.

The walk starts at the car park and climbs gently to the lookout, where interpretive signage provides information about the surrounding landscape and local history. The elevated position is particularly good for photography and gives a broad view across the rural floodplain towards Orbost.

The lookout is also close to the East Gippsland Rail Trail and can be used as a scenic stop by walkers and cyclists travelling along the trail.

Getting There:

From Orbost, travel south-west along the Princes Highway towards Newmerella and follow the signs to Grandview Lookout. There is parking near the start of the walk. The lookout is approximately 5 km from Orbost.
