Newborough - Lake Narracan

A large lake (300ha) which is ideal for power boating, waterskiing, jet skiing, sail boarding and sailing. It is also a great place for swimming, fishing, family picnics and walking.
Facilities include toilets, picnic tables and two boat ramps.
There are toilets, two unshaded tables and a bin near the intersection of South Shore Road and Sullivans Track as you approach the lake from the south.
If you turn right on South Shore Road, after 80m you will come to the Main Boat Ramp where there is a carpark, three tables and bin.
To reach the swimming area (named Turras Beach on google maps), travel 500m westwards along South Shore Road. There is a carparking area, grassy strip with trees for shade, three tables under trees, jetty for fishing and an area blocked off from boats with some small sandy beaches. The main beach is in front of the carpark but there is a boardwalk around to some more smaller beaches.

The area is quite shallow with no drop-offs. Don't jump off the pier as it's very shallow.
The swimming area along North Shore Road is private property belonging to the Woorabinda School Camp with lots of signs threatening legal action if you trespass. Also the area to the east (Halls Bay) is used by the Latrobe Valley Waterski Club.
Camping is not permitted around the lake. Non-powered and powered camp sites are available at Lake Narracan Caravan Park. Facilities include toilet and shower amenities, BBQs and laundry. For bookings phone (03) 5135 8508.
Access for Dogs:
Dogs are permitted on leash.
