Neuron e-Scooters

Neuron e-Scooters

Neuron's distinctive safety orange e-scooters offer a range of pioneering safety innovations including the world's first app-controlled Helmet Lock which secures and releases a helmet at the start of your ride. Other safety features include "Follow My Ride" which allows riders to share their trip with friends and family; a 000 emergency button; topple detection that alerts our operations team if an e-scooter has been left on its side so it can be repositioned; and geofencing technology that controls top-speed as well as where Neuron e-scooters can be ridden and parked.

Riders will be able to book and use the e-scooters through Neuron's user-friendly app, which can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play and set up in a matter of minutes.

From February 1, 2022 the City of Melbourne, City of Yarra and City of Port Phillip are participating in a one year trial which could be extended pending the outcome of the trial.

E-scooters will travel up to a maximum speed of 20 km/h on bicycle lanes, shared paths and low speed roads, and will not be allowed on footpaths. Riders must adhere to most of the same rules as bike riders, including wearing a helmet and slowing down to give way to pedestrians on shared paths.

Geofencing technology will also enforce certain 'no go' and 'go slow' zones where speed limits are restricted in high-traffic shared areas and show riders where e-scooters can be parked and located.

You can use the app to find available scooters near you, and you can reserve one for 15 minutes while you get to your ride.

You can ride them anywhere in the municipalities of Melbourne, Yarra or Port Phillip, but the power will shut off if they go outside of those council areas.

Here's a step-by-step guide showing how to ride a Neuron e-scooter.
