Mineral Springs in the Moorabool Shire

There are a number of mineral springs in the Moorabool region.

Blackwood Mineral Springs are situated on the banks of the Lerderderg River. There is a Soda Spring on the car park side of the river, while another mineral spring is situated directly on the other side of the river, accessed via a footbridge. The mineral spring is the starting point for walking tracks that will take visitors to Shaws Lake via Sweet's Lookout (30 minute walk). Shaws Lake is also accessible via a short drive.

Adjacent to the Bostock Reservoir, the small Ballan Mineral Reserve has spring water comparable to that of Hepburn Springs. Access is via a steep path and vehicle access is limited. For those willing to find their way down the slope, they will be treated to views of the river valley lying close to the riverbed.

Spargo Creek Mineral Spring Reserve offers access to free-flowing water directly from the mineral spring with water emerging from an outlet in a built retaining wall. The mineral spring is located in a lovely setting with native vegetation and local wildlife in abundance. Facilities include vehicle access and a small paved area surrounding the spring.
