Meredith - Ibis Middleton Walk

Meredith - Ibis Middleton Walk

Enjoy this short but leisurely 680m (one-way) walk along the banks of the Coolebarghurk Creek in Meredith.

Meredith - Ibis Middleton Walk

This easy and short out-and-back trail can be accessed from Russell Street, Staughton Street East or Ballan-Meredith Road. Follow the Coolebarghurk Creek and look out for the Ibis sculptures and the diversity of flora and fauna of the Creek. There are ibis signs and a lot of artwork at the shelter along the path (on the roof, on the side and under the seat).

The creek is overgrown with lots of bullrushes and no, we didn't see any ibises.

The Middleton Walk is named after Ken Middleton PSM, Shire Engineer of the Bannockburn Shire, 1964 to 1994.
It was his vision to beautify the Coolebarghurk Creek as a recreational public walk. He assisted in the tree planting and ensured the area was maintained.
