McDonnell Park Dog Off Leash Area (Northcote)

McDonnell Park Dog Off Leash Area (Northcote)

The park comprises a football oval with a frame fence around the perimeter which is next to another big grassy area which is a less formal and has no fences. This is the home ground for Northcote Junior Football Club aka The Cougars.

The whole park is quite large and nice and green and has quite a few trees dotted about. The park also has cricket nets and tennis courts in one corner which is fenced off.

Parking is quite controlled along Clifton Street and it is best to park in the car park at the eastern end of the street.

On the west side is the Clifton Street Childrens Centre which has a Bush Food and Medicine Garden out the front. Kids might enjoy looking for the Ruby Salt Bush, Old Man Weed, Yam Daisy and Emu Bush but don't let the dogs dig around here.

There are toilets which are only open during scheduled events and an unshaded table at the east end of the park. There is a tap with a makeshift dog bowl on the west side of the Pavilion and a bin is provided near the car park.
