Maldon - Rock of Ages

Maldon - Rock of Ages

Rock of Ages is within close proximity to the town of Maldon. This spectacular rocky outcrop is located on Mount Mooral, overlooking the Maldon township. Enormous boulders are staggered across the top of the mount and offer breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside.

You can drive up there or enjoy a 20 minute bush walk up the rocky and uneven track. Once you get there, you can sit in peace and soak in the stunning views of the town, Maldon's historic Cemetery, and Mt Tarrengower. It is a lovely place to enjoy a family picnic.

Maldon - Rock of Ages

The road up to the Rock of Ages is a dirt track which starts at Davies Lane which is accessible by 2WD vehicles (except those with low clearance). During wet weather 4WD vehicles are recommended. As an alternative, you can walk up the Rock of Ages Track which is quite rocky from Davies Lane (20 minutes one way) or park along Back Cemetery Road and walk up the very steep, rocky hillside.

Access for Dogs:

Dogs are permitted on leash.

Review:

An interesting area with nice views of the surrounding area in multiple directions. There are plenty of big boulders to scramble over. There are no facilities such as picnic tables or water tap.
