Macarthur Museum

Macarthur Museum occupies the town's historic courthouse, which opened in 1892 and retains features including the magistrate's bench and the dock for accused people.

The museum's collection records the history of Macarthur and the surrounding district from the 1860s to the present. Displays and research material include photographs, maps, books, newspapers, documents, journals, ledgers and local memorabilia.

Other features include the former police lockup, Bills Trough and a reconstructed barber shop. The Macarthur and District Historical Society can also assist with local-history and family-history research.
