Koonoomoo - Mulberry Beach

Koonoomoo - Mulberry Beach

Mulberry Beach is located at a bend in the Murray River close to the bridge across the Murray River on the Victorian side of the river. Some sources state that this beach is also named Pebbly Beach while other sources state that Pebbly Beach is a separate beach a little further away from the bridge.

There is a 150m long beach which is sandy but does have some gravelly parts.

There are shallow areas close to the bank that are safe for beginners with active supervision. Elsewhere is for experienced swimmers due to the strong current.

The location is a free camping area and campers utilise the area at the back of the beach. Keep a lookout for koalas in the trees.

There are no facilities here except for toilets located near the track that runs between Finley Beach and Mulberry Beach.

Note that there is no fishing from September to November and there is no fishing for Murray crayfish or trout cod at any time.

To reach Mulberry Beach, take an unnamed track eastwards from the Goulburn Valley Highway at a point 300m south of the Murray River bridge.
