Kaniva - Billy Ho Bush Walk

Billy Ho Bush Walk is a self-guided and signposted bushwalk which is about 3 km return in length. The relevant brochure for the walk is available from the Kaniva Visitor Information Centre. Numbered pegs enable the identification of various species of desert flora such as scarlet bottlebrush, Mallee honey, flame heath, myrtle and desert banksias. The walk passes through areas of yellow gums, brown stringy barks, banksias and heaths. Birdlife includes southern scrub robins, various honeyeaters and parrots, as well as pardalotes, wrens, thornbills and whistlers. Also keep an eye out for the rare redtailed
black cockatoo.

The most delightful time to visit is from April to December when orchids are in flower.

Directions - From Kaniva head south along Madden Street S towards Lillimur South. Continue on for about 5 km where there is a signposted turnoff on the right to Billy Ho Reserve.
