Jackson's Creek Walk (Gisborne)

Jackson's Creek Walk is a pleasant creekside walking route through central Gisborne, following Jacksons Creek through grassy open spaces and connecting Gisborne Botanic Gardens with Sankey Reserve. The route is popular with walkers, runners and cyclists and passes sporting ovals, a playground and other recreation areas.

The approximately 4 km circuit can be accessed from several points, including Station Road, Robertson Street and the Aitken Street reserve area. From Gisborne Botanic Gardens, follow the walking paths alongside Jacksons Creek towards Sankey Reserve. The Botanic Gardens include an unusual collection influenced by Gisborne's former sister-city relationship with Gisborne in New Zealand.

Access for Dogs:

Dogs are permitted on leash through Gisborne Botanic Gardens. Dogs are prohibited within Jacksons Creek and within 5 metres of the embankment. Parts of Sankey Reserve are designated off-leash areas, subject to signs and sporting activities.
