Heritage Hill Museum and Historic Gardens (Dandenong)

Heritage Hill Museum and Historic Gardens preserves several of Dandenong’s historic buildings and gardens. Laurel Lodge dates from 1869, Benga House was built in 1936, and St James' Anglican Church dates from 1864.
Benga House includes period rooms and a community gallery with exhibitions. Its interpretation of the former maid’s quarters includes an audio tour and soundscape. The oral-history collection has more than 300 interviews and is available by prior arrangement.
The gardens provide a quiet place to explore or enjoy lunch. Benga’s garden retains much of its 1930s design, including ornamental trees, a formal rose garden, perennial beds, paths, a pergola and sundial.
St James’ Anglican Church is not open to the public daily. Access is by prior arrangement and subject to parish restrictions.
