Nestled in a tranquil bush setting at the foot of the McIvor and McHarg ranges, the old gold rush town of Heathcote is renowned for its world class Shiraz. The region is also now being joined by other wine varieties like, Sangiovese, Viognier, Vermentino and Tempranillo also receiving acclaim from the critics. This diversity of wine style is a by-product of the unique micro climates across the region and is definitely worth exploring.
Visit the local Cellar Doors in the region and plan a visit on the Queen’s Birthday weekend each year, for Heathcote on Show – all the Cellar Doors across the region are open and you can meet, one on one with the winemaker and sample the fruits of their labours.

Wander the heritage streetscape of the High Street, pick up some wonderful picnic produce and a bottle of local wine to enjoy in the scenic Valley of the Liquid Ambers.
Explore a little further and discover the spectacular landscapes, wildflowers and wildlife – perfect for bushwalking and photography enthusiasts.
For the more energetic ride the O’Keefe Rail Trail out to Lake Eppalock and if you're up to it take the 44km ride to Bendigo, through the ever-changing scenery.
