There are a range of great water slides in Melbourne, ranging from exciting monster slides at theme parks to fun frog slides for young kids at some aquatic centres. Finding a suitable water slide can be a minefield with some waterslides having height and/or weight restrictions, some slides having restricted operating hours and some outdoor waterslides only operating when the temperature reaches a certain level. Slides: Two exciting water slides. The Space Bowl slide features a large bowl which swirls swimmers around before dropping them out of a hole into a little pool and the Raft Slide is a twisting tube ride in total darkness (except for some illuminated arrow signs).
Slide Restrictions: For the Space Bowl you need to be more than 1.2m tall AND more than 10 years old and for the Raft Ride you need to be more than 1.2m tall although a child who is this height but less than 10 years old can go on a tandem raft with some-one older than 16.
Slide Operating Times: 4pm - 7pm weekdays, 12pm - 5pm on weekends and public holidays

Slides: Python waterslide slithers around twists and turns on a raft with up to four people with sound and light technology before the final plunge. The 114-metre long Constrictor waterslide swallows either a single or a two person raft into its depths, down through a series of spirals with tight, high banking turns. The Constrictor lives up to its name with a flume that narrows to 2.1m, expands to 3.1m and then back again to 2.1m. This waterslide has a custom designed snake skin like facade.
Slide Restrictions: Python ride is designed for 2 to 4 riders and riders must be at least 110cm tall. If under 10, rider must be accompanied by an adult 18 years or older.
The Constrictor ride is designed for 1 to 2 riders and riders must be at least 110cm tall. If under 5, rider must be accompanied by an adult 18 years or older.

Slides: Two giant waterslides. The Pipeline waterslide is a tunnel slide with some twists and turns on either one or two person rafts while Tantrum Alley uses rafts for 2, 3 or 4 people and the ride is much wilder with two sections where the raft is thrust high up on the wall and you descend into a maelstrom of water.
Slide Restrictions: The Pipeline: 107cm minimum and Tantrum Alley 122cm minimum.
Slide Operating Times: 10am-5pm weekends, 4-7pm Mon, Wed & Fri

Slides: Two huge slides, the PIPEline and WorldALLEY which operate at a heated temperature of 28 degrees.
Slide Restrictions: You must be over 125cm to ride the slides and patrons under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult.
Slide Operating Times: Typically 10am-5pm during school holidays and weekends during school terms. Week days during school terms are 4-7pm.
Other Facilities: Indoor 50m pool (often split into two 25m sections), indoor 25m pool, warm water pool, adventure water splash park for kids, spa, sauna and steam room.

Brimbank Aquatic and Wellness Centre (Keilor Downs)

Slides: Head to the 12m high platform inside the building and choose your ride experience. Slide 1 is a genuine thrill ride! It begins with a steep drop that will accelerate riders very quickly up to 50 kilometres per hour. Slide 2 is a bit more placid but still fast. It has more twists and turns as it takes riders to the splashdown zone. Both slides have translucent sections and natural light effects, which look like brightly coloured strobe lights as you slide through.
Slide Restrictions: You will need to be at least 1.2m tall to take these slides. Maximum weight 120kg for slide access.
Slide Operating Times: Typically Monday - Friday 4pm - 7pm and weekends 10am - 5pm.
Other Facilities: Indoor 50m pool, warm water pool, Learn to Swim pool, adventure water splash park for kids, spa, sauna and steam room.

Slides: Two large indoor, enclosed waterslides which do not use rafts. Skybox is an adrenaline inducing drop slide where you stand inside a perspex cylinder and the support for your feet suddenly drops away and you go plummeting downwards and Twister which is a fast and loopy tunnel slide.
Slide Restrictions: Height limit of 122cm and a weight limit of 120kg to use the Skybox slide. Twister does not have a height or weight limit but there is a minimum age limit of five years for both slides.
Slide Operating Times: Slides run on weekends and public/school holidays from 12noon - 5pm.
Other Facilities: Indoor 50m 10 lane pool, diving facilities, large children's leisure pool with aquatic playground, baby/toddler pool, warm water pool, spa, sauna and steam room.

Slide Restrictions: Riders must be 120 metres or higher. Maximum weight 115 kilograms for solo riders, 180 kilograms total for dual riders.
Slide Operating Times: When other aquatic facilities are open.

Slides: Four large waterslides. the two main ones are Taipan and Boomerango which both use a raft which can fit anywhere between one and four people depending on how much you weigh. The rafts are taken to the start point by a conveyor belt. Taipan, is a standard ride which is nice and long while Boomerango is much more exciting. After some twists and turns, there is a very fast and steep dive followed by the raft going high up onto the opposite wall and plunging back down. There are also some other water rides: Red Belly Racer (head-to-head competition across four lanes with a series of tight turns, racing down towards the finish line) and Tiger Snake Tango (a twisting and turning slide without rafts)
Slide Restrictions: Under 120cm not permitted on Taipan, Boomerango, Red Belly Racer and Tiger Snake Tango.
Slide Operating Times: All zones including Oasis Springs are open during peak periods between mid November and the end of Easter.
Other Facilities: Lazy river, aquatic jungle gym, wave pool, Surf's Up and heated rock pools. Also a range of non-water activities.

On Tornado, plunge into the eye of the storm on a fast and furious family funnel water ride where riders will experience moments of zero gravity weightlessness getting nearly vertical on the massive funnel walls. On Tsunami ride raging waters and massive waves down a series of dark tunnels and swirling rips. Three other water slides - Gold Rush Rapids (ride the 110 metre long rapids and finish with a 2 metre plunge), Wild West Canyon (pitch black dark ride within the tunnel experiencing two 360 degree turns) and Aqua Racer (race down a six lane track).

Typhoon is a very long CannonBowl waterslide on either a single or two-person tube ride with a drop of nearly 60 feet and on Gravity Wave riders blast off from a 27m high launch pad and experience absolute weightlessness and mega hangtime as they are shot up the almost vertical Gravity Wave-wall. in 2023 another huge waterslide, SuperNova was added. Four other water slides - Kraken Racer (racing down twisting tunnels before accelerating into open multi-bump racing lanes), Splashdown Water Slide (two 65 metre open water slides), Wipeout Water Slide (Plunge down 130 metres in a translucent flume full of rapid twists and turns and explode out of the tunnel and into a gnarly wipeout), Blackout Water Slide (Plunge 130m in total darkness in a tunnel slide).
