Gone Fishing Charters (Queenscliff)

Gone Fishing Charters operates fishing trips from Queenscliff Harbour, heading into Port Phillip Bay and Bass Strait to target a range of seasonal fish including King George whiting, snapper, flathead, squid, gummy shark, kingfish and tuna. Charters are suitable for beginners through to experienced anglers and are available as shared or private trips.

Trips operate aboard the 10.5 metre custom-built vessel Poseidon. Depending on the season and charter selected, trips generally run for between five and eight hours. Fishing locations and target species vary according to the season, weather and what is biting at the time.

Fishing equipment, bait and tackle are supplied, toilet facilities are available aboard the boat and the crew clean and bag the catch at the end of the trip. Visitors can bring their own food and drinks.

The standard five-hour charter commonly targets whiting, squid, flathead, snapper and reef species. Other seasonal trips include gummy shark, kingfish and tuna, longer eight-hour charters and evening fishing trips.

A Portsea Pier pickup is also available on some charters for qualifying groups.

Gone Fishing advises anglers that a Victorian Recreational Fishing Licence is required for the charter. Check current Victorian fishing licence requirements and exemptions before visiting.
