Ballarat - Go2000 Travel

Go2000 Travel offers personalised sightseeing tours around Ballarat, the Victorian Goldfields and other regional destinations. Tours range from short 90-minute introductions to Ballarat through to half-day, full-day and customised multi-day itineraries.

Tours are generally conducted in a comfortable BMW SUV for small groups of two to four people, with commentary provided by experienced local guides Bev and Jim Hocking. Larger group tours and hop-on guiding services for visiting coaches may also be arranged.

Tour options include Ballarat heritage and history tours, the Official Dr Blake Ballarat Tour, Central Victorian gold towns, the Grampians, Great Ocean Road and Twelve Apostles, Hanging Rock and Mount Macedon, genealogy tours, gardens and galleries, and customised tours based on visitors’ interests.

Tours may collect passengers from their accommodation, Ballarat Railway Station, the Ballarat Visitor Information Centre or another agreed location.

The 90-minute Ballarat sightseeing tour introduces visitors to historic buildings, gardens, statues and stories associated with Eureka, the Arch of Victory, Avenue of Honour, Australian Ex-Prisoners of War Memorial, Ballarat Botanical Gardens and other city landmarks.

The Official Dr Blake Ballarat Tour visits up to ten Ballarat locations used during filming of the television series The Doctor Blake Mysteries. It includes historical commentary, photograph stops and a guided walk along Lydiard Street.

Longer tours can visit Central Victorian gold towns, the Grampians National Park, the Great Ocean Road, Twelve Apostles, Hanging Rock, Mount Macedon, galleries, gardens and places connected with family history.
