Glengarry West - Applebox Farm
Applebox Farm is a small family farm in the foothills of the Great Dividing Range, about ten minutes north of Traralgon. The farm grows sunflowers, dahlias and other seasonal flowers.
During the summer and autumn growing season, visitors can attend Pick Your Own flower events. Dates are announced week by week because opening depends on the weather and the availability of flowers.
The Pick Your Own Sunflower experience includes:
- Entry to the sunflower field
- The opportunity to pick one or more sunflowers
- Personal photography among the flowers
- Secateurs available for hire
- Seasonal flower sales from the farm-gate Flower Shed
Visitors should wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes. Bees are present among the flowers and snakes may be present on the farm. There are no toilets, so visitors should use the public toilets in Glengarry before arriving.
Group farm experiences can also be arranged during the flower-growing season. These 1.5-hour visits can be tailored to include flower picking, vegetable gardening or an introduction to the daily operation of the farm. A minimum of ten participants applies.
Accessibility:
There are no maintained paths through the flower paddocks. However, the ground is generally flat and may be suitable for wheelchairs and mobility aids.

During the season, Pick Your Own events are generally offered from Friday to Sunday on selected dates. Check the Applebox Farm Pick Your Own page or social media for announced dates and booking availability.
Cost:
Pick Your Own admission is currently $5 per person. Children under ten enter free.
Sunflowers cost $5 per stem. Visitors can bring their own secateurs or hire a pair for $5.
Group experiences cost from $150 per group. Flower picking is not included in the group booking fee.

Access for Dogs:
Pets are not permitted because livestock and the owners' dogs are present on the property.
